Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B is a bacteria and fungi binding wound dressing, based on Sorbact Technology. It consists of a Sorbact DACC-coated wound contact layer combined with an absorbent polyurethane foam that contains superabsorbents stripes and a border with silicone adhesive, which minimises trauma during dressing changes. The product absorbs and retains exudate. Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum prevents and treats wound infections and facilitates the wound healing process. Sorbact wound contact layer is shown to bind wound related pathogens up to seven days in vitro. The skin-friendly all-in-one dressing that reduces bioburden.

Intended Purpose:
Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum is intended for use in management of clean, contaminated, colonized or infected low to high exuding wounds, such as surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and leg ulcers. Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B is intended to be used on superficial wounds.

Intended User and Use Environment:
Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum is intended to be used on children and adults. Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum is intended to be used by healthcare professionals, or by lay persons under supervision of a healthcare professional. The dressing is intended to be used in healthcare facilities and home environment.

Mode of Action:
Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B / Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum binds common wound microorganisms, such as Staphylococcus aureus (including MRSA), Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans, as shown in vitro. There is no release of antimicrobial agents to the wound.

Clinical Benefits:
Use of Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum can reduce bioburden and prevent infection. The dressing helps reducing pain and can improve wound healing and decrease wound size. Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B absorbs and retains exudate.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Do not re-use. Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B is for single patient and single use only. Re-use may lead to cross contamination and increased risk of infection.
• Do not use if the peel pouch is already opened or damaged, since the sterility cannot then be guaranteed.
• Do not use on patients with a known hypersensitivity to the dressing (dialkylcarbamoyl chloride [DACC], cellulose acetate, polyurethane, silicone and sodium polyacrylate).
• Do not use in combination with fatty products, such as ointments, creams and solutions, as they may decrease the binding of microorganisms.
• Do not use with oxidizing solutions such as hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide.
• Do not re-sterilize.
• If the treated condition deteriorates, fails to improve or a side effect is observed, consult an appropriate clinician.

Storage and Disposal:
Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B shall be stored dry and kept away from sunlight. Disposal should be made according to local environmental procedures.
