BD Microtainer Contact Activated Lancets

The ergonomic design of the BD Microtainer® Contact-activated safety single-use lancet enables it to be held securely and the sampling point precisely located. The lancet has been clinically demonstrated to minimise patient discomfort and maximise blood flow.

Its intuitive handling requires minimum training. The lancet is activated by being pressed onto the sampling location,
minimising the influence of the user on puncture depth. The sharp point then retracts automatically into the housing.
This lancet is available in three sizes: for a single drop of blood a medium or large flow of blood.

• Blue Lancet (2.0mm depth, 1.5mm blade width): Ideal for deeper punctures.
• Pink Lancet (21 gauge, 1.8mm depth): Suitable for moderate punctures.
• Purple Lancet (30 gauge, 1.5mm depth): Provides a more shallow puncture, perfect for delicate procedures.

These lancets ensure consistent puncture depth with minimal chance of repeat punctures. The ergonomic design allows for a secure grip and better visibility at the puncture site. The lancets are single-use, retract automatically after use, and are laser-etched with a lot number for easy tracking.

Additionally, BD Microtainer and Quikheel lancets are latex-free, ensuring safety for both clinicians and patients. The preemie (pink) Quikheel lancet is suitable for infants weighing between 1.0-1.5 kg, while the teal lancet is used for babies over 1.5 kg.
