Nutritionally complete paediatric tube feed with food-derived ingredients

DESCRIPTION
Compleat® Paediatric is a nutritionally complete 1.2 kcal/mL standard enteral tube feed, containing food-derived ingredients including rehydrated chicken meat and vegetables, peach purée, and orange juice from concentrate. Compleat® Paediatric is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision.

PRESENTATION
Available in 500 mL SmartFlex® collapsable semi-rigid bottles, packed 12 x 500 mL per case.

INDICATIONS
For the dietary management of:

• Short bowel syndrome

• Intractable malabsorption

• Preoperative preparation of undernourished patients

• Inflammatory bowel disease

• Total gastrectomy

• Dysphagia

• Bowel fistulae

• Feeding intolerances

• Developmental disabilities

• Disease-related malnutrition in children over 1 year of age

INGREDIENTS
Water, maltodextrin, rehydrated chicken meat (6.9%), rehydrated vegetables (4.3%) [peas 3.8%, green beans 0.54%], vegetable oils (rapeseed, sunflower), milk proteins, peach purée (1.4%), orange juice from concentrate (1.2%), fibres (pea fibre, acacia gum, fructooligosaccharides, inulin), emulsifiers (E472c, E471), medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil, minerals (potassium phosphate, calcium chloride, calcium lactate, calcium phosphate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium oxide, magnesium citrate, ferrous lactate, zinc sulphate, copper gluconate, manganese sulphate, sodium fluoride, potassium iodide, sodium molybdate, chromium chloride, sodium selenite), fish oil, choline bitartrate, vitamins (C, niacin, E, pantothenic acid, B6, riboflavin, thiamin, A, folic acid, K, biotin, D, B12), stabiliser (E407), taurine, L-carnitine, antioxidant (E304).

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE

• Shake well before use.

• Suitable as a sole source of nutrition.

• Recommended volumes for complete nutritional intake:

  • Ages 1–3 years: 700 mL*

  • Ages 4–6 years: 929 mL*

  • Ages 7–10 years: 1000 mL**

  • Ages 11–14 years: 1450 mL**

  • Ages 15–18 years: 1800 mL**
    *For children with lower energy requirements
    **For children with higher energy requirements

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

• 12-month shelf life from date of manufacture.

• Store unopened in a cool, dry place.

• Once spiked, use within 24 hours.

• Unused portions can be recapped, refrigerated, and used within 24 hours.

• A pump is recommended to maintain a consistent flow during feeding.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Not suitable for individuals with:

• • Allergy to fish

  • Cow’s milk protein allergy

  • Galactosaemia

PRECAUTIONS

• Must be used under medical supervision.

• Ideal for children aged 1 year and above.

• Do not mix food or medications into the feed.

• For 500 mL enteral use only.
