properties.
Indications
Used in pharmaceutical preparations as a lubricating and moisturising agent
and as a vehicle, solvent, sweetening agent and preservative.

Contraindications
Cardiac failure, renal disease if used orally.
Precautions
Use with caution on dehydrated patients if used orally.
Adverse Effects
Glycerol’s adverse effects are mainly due to its dehydrating action. If taken
by mouth, glycerol may cause headache, nausea and vomiting.
