Olsen-Hegar needle holders are characterised for having a cutting edge behind the jaws which enable the user to cut the suture and grasp the suture needle without changing instruments. These needle holders are available with tungsten carbide Inserts in the jaws which provides a better feel of the suturing proceedure and a secure grip on the suture needles. These needle holders have the feel of scissors but lock as well.
