IV Fluid Product Shortage Instruction

Due to continued supply chain disruptions with our supplier, Baxter, we are currently unable to obtain stock of the following IV fluids:

  • AHB2324 – 1000ml Compound Sodium Lactate [Hartmann’s]
  • AHB2323 – 500ml Compound Sodium Lactate [Hartmann’s]
  • AHB1324 – 1000ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride
  • AHB1323 – 500ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride
  • AHB1322 – 250ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride
  • AHB1307 – 100ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride

Allocation quantity and product code will be unpredictable. We highly recommend that all wholesalers:

  • Prioritise their customers from highest need to lowest need
  • Discuss with customers their ability to use any size of IV fluids, in the event their preferred size is unavailable. And to identify procedures that could use alternate sources of fluids, or less fluids
  • Do not take new customers for IV fluid products
